Moroccan Fossil Set #02
This Moroccan fossil set comes from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco near the town of Rissani.
It includes two polished Orthoceras fossil points within the dark rock matrix and one Trilobite.
The Orthoceras was a long squid-like creature that lived approximately 400 Million years ago in the Silurian age in the seas that now make up the Moroccan mountains.
The Trilobite (Flexicalymene sp) is a member of a well-known fossil group of extinct marine arthropods that lived approximately 380 million years old all over the world. This one also comes from the same Moroccan mountains.
