Moroccan Fossil Plate (Vertical) #004

This Moroccan fossil vertical plate comes from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco near the town of Rissani.
The plate is skillfully handcrafted to show off one polished Orthoceras fossil and one Ammonite fossil within a dark rock matrix.

The Orthoceras was a long squid-like creature that lived approximately 400 Million years ago   in the Silurian age  in the seas that now make up the Moroccan mountains.

The Ammonites were some of the most notorious ancient sea creatures. They inhabited the seas during the Denovian period (350 million years ago). This one also comes from the same Moroccan mountains.

The matrix measures 8" High  5" Wide and 2" Deep.
