Botswana 6.5-inch Basket #008
This open basket was woven in the Okavango Delta region of Botswana using natural materials such as fibers from the mokola palm colored with vegetable dyes made from the bark and roots of trees sorghum husks and leaves. Baskets are woven using a coil technique and take many days to weeks to complete. This basket was made by Moshoug.
The traditional open bowls are used by women for winnowing grain.
Approximately 6.5" in diameter and 2" high.
